Research conducted on REV-ERB-deficient mice revealed significant cardiac myopathy after transverse aortic constriction compared to wild-type control mice, indicating the importance of REV-ERB in protecting the heart from pressure overload. This data established that SR-9009 is specifically lethal to both chemosensitive and chemoresistant small-cell lung cancer cells. REV-ERBα was found to be involved in the antitumor effect of SR-9009.
