A published Phase I study in healthy young men characterized its safety and pharmacokinetic profile and also reported dose-dependent suppression of total testosterone, sex hormone–binding globulin, and HDL cholesterol.[1] The compound was subsequently evaluated in a Phase II trial in patients recovering from hip fracture.[3] Its metabolic fate has been studied extensively in anti-doping research to support detection methods.[2]
