Research context

What is Tesamorelin?

Tesamorelin is a synthetic analog of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH). Structurally, it is a stabilized analog of the 44-amino-acid form of GHRH — GHRH(1–44) — modified at the N-terminus with a trans-3-hexenoyl group and amidated at the C-terminus, modifications that increase its stability relative to native GHRH.

Mechanistically, it acts as an agonist at the GHRH receptor. Like other GHRH analogs, and unlike ghrelin-mimetic secretagogues, it does not act through the GHS-R1a (ghrelin) receptor. It is used as a research chemical to investigate GHRH-receptor signaling in experimental models.

Tesamorelin is supplied here strictly as a research chemical for laboratory research. Sports Technology Labs makes no claims regarding its effects, and nothing in this listing should be interpreted as describing outcomes in humans or animals.

Regulatory & compliance status

Important regulatory information

Supplied as a research chemical

Tesamorelin is the active ingredient in an FDA-approved prescription drug (marketed as Egrifta). However, this material is supplied as a research chemical — not as an approved drug product — and is not for human or animal use. It is not a dietary supplement or sports supplement.

WADA-prohibited

Growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) and its analogues, including tesamorelin, are prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Agency at all times under S2 (Peptide Hormones, Growth Factors, Related Substances and Mimetics) (ref. 3).

Legal status for research

In the United States, tesamorelin is supplied for laboratory research use. Other jurisdictions may regulate it differently.

Our position

Sports Technology Labs are chemical suppliers, not medical providers. We do not condone or encourage consumer use of research compounds.
