What is Sermorelin?
Sermorelin (also called sermorelin acetate) is a synthetic peptide corresponding to the first 29 amino acids of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH): that is, GHRH(1–29), the biologically active N-terminal fragment of GHRH.
Mechanistically, it acts as an agonist at the GHRH receptor within the hypothalamic-pituitary-somatotropic axis. Unlike ghrelin-mimetic secretagogues, it does not act through the GHS-R1a (ghrelin) receptor. It is used as a research chemical to investigate GHRH-receptor signaling in experimental models.
